 Spring

'Spring' is a poem written by Anuj Nair. It is a Picture poem / Photo poem about Spring.

Spring

"Winter is gone O ! let us turn
To our blessed native land "
Said the cuckoo in notes well known
And flew with her fellow band

People would seek, the birdie knew
As she is the harbinger
Of spring that comes anew
To undo the wrongs of winter.

Swallows accompanied

The swarming, Cuckoo

From further south where they tarried

And had their comforts too

O! the cooing of the cuckoo
Sweet and melodious
Thought the plants of the woods
And wanted to greet their friends.

Meadows, hedgerows and coppices
All in a hurry set forth
The buds and flowers- their babes
In colourful attires to show their worth.

At the margin of the wood
The primrose gaily stood
With his yellow flowers a little pale
Upheld in the cup of green leaves.

" A little scent I could spend "
Said the violet from a shady bank
And her five petaled brand
New flowers, poured the scent.

The wild Hyacinth in delicate blue
Rejoiced and to welcome the spring
Put her flower's leaves to form a blue
Bell, for the august moment to ring.
